Year 1977, Antique no longer endure the dark nights. San Jose de Buenavista, the capital town, was lit and it sparked the beacon of hope to other towns, expecting theirs will be next in line. ANTECO's services gradually improved, length of lines and number of connections continually increased. The brightness of electricity spread - bulb after bulb, house after house, barangay after barangay, town after town, like wild fire in the forest.

Students area not only able to study at night but can also access to other means of acquiring information. Various jobs from business, banking, construction and a lot more emerged due to accessible 24/7 electricity.

To date, ANTECO owns six (6) substations to supply reliable electricity to its MCOs, seven (7) area offices and six (6) service centers for a fast and convenient assistance/services as well as other logistics support and equipment for customer satisfaction. ANTECO also maintained the Triple A category on outstanding performance based on Key Performance Standards (KPS) of the National Electrification Administration (NEA).

With this development, comes challenges such as how to fulfill its primary mandate to electrify the remaining unenergized sitios and households, to encounter obstacles such as inaccessibility and high cost of service that ANTECO should overcome. Regulations, policies and government laws as well as customer demands contribute to the EC's challenges nowadays.

Despite of it all, as a Non-stock, Non-Profit, Service Oriented Electric Cooperative (EC), ANTECO will unceasingly perform its mandate of total rural electrification, to bring sustainable economic development, to enhance the quality of lie of every Antiqueño and pursue continuous transformation of the province from sleepy into a progressive area here in Panay Island.
